Before I start to talk about vocalapproach news can I just say a congratulations to all the singers in the Dunvant Male voice choir young Musical Theatre competition. It was a pleasure being on the adjudication panel. I'm so glad there's a competition that promotes Musical Theatre singing.
It's been a very busy time recently and Michael and I have now set our next Swansea workshop for Thursday 25th March. We'll post details this week.
We have a number of exciting projects coming up this year so keep in contact with us and we'll keep you updated. Projects include Chicago and a weekend workshop in Plymouth.
I have to say a big thank you to Paul, Anne-Marie, Kiereen and Helen for taking me through the testing process and helping me achieve the Certified Master Teacher status in Estill Voice Training. I was so delighted to be awarded this in November.
You can also catch Michael and I performing at The Grand Theatre Arts Wing on Thursday 17th June. We're performing an evening of Musical Theatre and popular songs called 'An American Songbook' featuring songs from the great American composers. We're looking forward to working on all our favourite songs together and performing them.
I don't mind letting on that I'm nervous as well as excited about an evening of song performance. However, it's an exciting opportunity.
Look forward to catching up over the next few months.

I've finally got round to writing this blog. It's been a busy time. I've been doing some visiting teaching at Arts Ed as well as working at Gorseinon college.
Michael and I had the pleasure recently of working with students from Northbrook university and enjoyed the day working with them. Congratultions to the students on the way in which they developed their song performances and thanks for the lovely comments Lucy.
We also did our first autumn Swansea workshop this last week and again really enjoyed working with the singers on their song performance. We'll publish our new dates soon but we're off to Plymouth next to do a workshop on November the 14th.
Good luck this week to Michael as he's the MD for Company at The Grand Theatre. I'm looking forward to watching the production and wish the best to all the performers.
My apologies for a short blog but I'm off now to listen to an excellent CD suggested to me by Ken Caswell featuring a singer called Nigel Richards, no relation.
Keep enjoying singing. Sun, Oct 2009 06:12

Welcome to our new website
This is the first blog of our new website - many thanks to Red Pencil Media for developing our exciting new website.
It's been a busy summer for Michael and myself. We worked together in Aberystwyth on The King and I. Congratulations to the cast and Anthony on what was an excellent show.
Michael's also been in Northern Ireland tutoring Musical Theatre there and helping the young performers develop their skills.
I've been in London working as an intern with Anne-Marie Speed, Paul Farrington and Kireen Locke on the Estill level one and two courses. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with so many excellent teachers, singers and SLT's. Thanks to all for an incredible experience.
With the summer now over - when did it begin? - I'm looking forward to the autumn schedule of workshops with vocal approach. There's alot of activity going on in terms of negotiations to various potential workshop venues at the moment, Michael and I may well have to polish our suits up for various meetings. It's exciting for us and I'm sure that we'll put together an exciting calender over the next year.
As I mentioned at the start of the blog, this is our new website and although we're finalising much of this as I type, we're already very excited about the potential of the new site.

Finally, it's always a pleasure to see the singers on the courses build their confidence and start to believe in their singing. Keep enjoying singing.
